When Norma Owens launched Temp System, Inc. in 1986 she was confident that there was a market niche for a local staffing business - she just didn't know how well it might succeed. Over the years she and her associates have operated with principles of treating clients with honesty and integrity - and with a lot of attention to details. It has been successful for them - and for the 10s of thousands of people that TSI has placed in jobs, and on June 16 they sponsored an Anderson County Chamber of Commerce coffee to celebrate 25 years in business.
Norma has always been a strong supporter of ACCC and has served on the Board of Directors, including Chairing the Board, and was one of the very first recipients of the chamber's R.C. Hoskins Volunteer of the Year award in 2000. She commented that she always feels that she is among friends at chamber events.
In introducing Norma, Jackie Nichols, Chamber President, commented that Norma was a member of the Chamber search team that selected Jackie for that position. (As was George Farris, Publisher of Inside Anderson County.)
Below are IAC photos of the event, including one of Norma with Jeanne Underwood, a long-time friend and collegue of Norma in ACCC affairs - and Editor of Inside Anderson County.
