Clinton City Council terminates City Manager

The Clinton City Council has terminated Steve Jones as City Manager. Parks and Recreation Director Roger Houck will serve as interim City Manager.
Council members Lyons, Burton, Stamey, Herril and McBride voted for the motion to terminate at a council meeting on Monday . Council members Shattuck and Gann voted against the motion.
Jones will receive 6 months termination pay.
This action was apparently due to continuing friction between Jones and Police Chief Rick Scarbrough.
