Press Release: Congressman Zach Wamp
Fall Internship Opportunities
May 25, 2010
College students and young professionals with an interest in government and public service are encouraged to apply for internships in one of Congressman Zach Wamp’s offices. Full and part-time internships in his Chattanooga, Oak Ridge and Washington, D.C., offices offer hands-on experience in learning about government, the legislative process and how a congressional office serves the community.
Interns will gain invaluable, career-building experience while playing a crucial role in our offices. They will help the office function by performing necessary office duties, communicating with other offices and government agencies, researching projects and maintaining historical records. Previous interns have had the opportunity to attend meetings, hearings and press opportunities in the community or on Capitol Hill. Interns maintain regular business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Additional consideration will be given to candidates who reside in Tennessee’s Third District or are part of an educational program.
Interested candidates can fill out an application at http://www.house.gov/wamp/internships.shtm and e-mail it to al.stewart@mail.house.gov in Chattanooga, gina.mcmahan@mail.house.gov in Oak Ridge or ehall@mail.house.gov in Washington, D.C.
